Elder Tanner Bennett was a guest on a previous episode of LDS MissionCast. He agreed to share his mission letters with the readers of our blog. So each week we will bring a letter from his mission. We will interview him at the conclusion of his mission as well. So stay tuned and stay connected to Tanner’s story each week on the LDS MissionCast Blog!

Okay, so funny thing here at the MTC before I begin.
Weeks go by Mondays here, so the first week I came here was week 1, the first Monday after was week 2, last week was week 3, and NOW IM IN WEEK 4. WHAT THE HECK. Alright, now the panic has subsided, Here is your weekly Lang-ism update!
—————————————————————————————————————————–
“I’m pretty sure the MTC is just spiritual sensitivity training”
(We got out of a motivational seminar for foreign language speakers telling us life was okay, even though we are speaking literally the most complicated languages on earth)
“Life is just one big T-shirt if you know what I’m saying”
(Not even Elder Lang knew what he was saying)
“The devil is here and he’s chilling in my space bar”
(Elder Lang’s keyboard space bar started vibrating… it was weird.)
Elder Lang, as I have gotten to know him more, is proficient in a number of things including: Juggling with up to 4 balls (only with eggs or rocks shaped like eggs though), MEME writing, colorful commentary, but most of all, Elder Lang is an excellent noise maker, or maker of noises. Here are some of my favorite:
HUGueAHHLP- This means Elder Lang is stressed and needs to shoot finger guns at me until he has improved.
Shaiwooo- not even I know what this means yet, but he says it when his nearly 6’4″ frame falls off the top bunk onto a corporate carpeted ground.
YEAGHIOSOIHFD- We saw water feature duck.
(To explain, Elder Lang likes birds, and there is a singular duck that hangs out in the fountain at the MTC, we have named him water feature duck and take ‘dank’ pics with said duck, pictures to come.)

Now for my week!
Monday: laundry is hard… Eesh. I said enough.
Tuesday: An AMAZING devotional on repentance and loving the people we serve.
Wednesday: I got to play the piano in a devotional for new missionaries and was invited to play the pipe organ and am now writing a piece for the MTC choir, so that’s kinda cool.
Thursday: I am tired by today, Elder angry swiss (Gessler) had some hard times so we talked, ate some pringles, and stropped a knife with his leather belt.
Friday: It was nice. That is all.
Saturday: TRC. TRC is SO amazing. We got to talk to and teach native speakers, which in a group of mostly white men and women, IS REALLY NICE. They talk so fast, but we were able to share our message and invite the spirit, it rocked.
Sunday: We got grilled on how to bring our investigators to conversion through repentance, interesting stuff, and better yet, no more uncomfortable bleachers for me and my favorite companion.
So that’s my week in brief! Sorry it isn’t longer, not much to report this week. I’m doing well with the language, as is my whole district. We’re getting along really well and I know the work that I am doing is important and will forever change the lives of the people I get to serve in Taiwan.
Love you all!
PEACE!
Elder Bennett
