Sister Rae Eckton – Letters from the field – Happy Halloween!!!

November 1, 2018

Sister Rae Eckton was a previous guest on the Latter-day Saint MissionCast. You can listen to her episode by clicking here. She will be sending out updates on her mission experience in Edmonton, Canada, and we will be reposting her letters on our blog on a regular basis.

How is October already over? I just watched watched General Conference.

This week has been so great! We are currently on exchanges with the Dawson Creek Sisters and it’s Sister Wilson’s birthday!! I’ve been with Sister Nielson for the majority of the exchange and she is such an awesome missionary. She’s so bold in all she does and has so much faith.
Zhen Zhen is reading the Book of Mormon with me still. We sent her the Book of Mormon calendar to keep up with the readings to finish by December. Chuan and Dean learned about the prophet timeline from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. They’re getting so into everything and it makes us so happy!! James was out of town last week so we weren’t able to meet with him. Yamuna has been doing great with explaining in English the chapters she reads. She also asks great questions so she’s able to fully understand what she’s reading.
We did a lot of finding this week. We went to the park a lot because there were a lot of people Pokemon-ing. There were a lot of events happening during the week so we were able to meet a lot of people with interest. Relating Pokemon to the Gospel was interesting.
Something I came across this week;
13 And it came to pass when they had arrived in the borders of the land of the Lamanites, that they separated themselves and departed one from another, trusting in the Lord that they should meet again at the close of their harvestfor they supposed that great was the work which they had undertaken.

14 And assuredly it was great, for they had undertaken to preach the word of God to wild and hardened and ferocious people; people who delighted in murdering the Nephites, and robbing and plundering them; and their hearts were set upon riches, or upon gold and silver, and precious stones; yet they sought to obtain these things by murdering and plundering, that they might not labor for them with their own hands”

I love you all! Have a great week
? Sister Eckton
