Mack Wilberg and Ryan Murphy are the Musical and Associate Musical Director for the world famous Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square and the Orchestra at Temple Square. Some may be surprised that every member of the Choir, Orchestra, and Bell Choir, are all set apart as Missionaries! The organization has been an ambassador for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for decades, bringing the spirit of the Restoration message to the world through music.
We had the privilege of interviewing Mack Wilberg and Ryan Murphy in the Tabernacle Choir offices underneath Temple Square to talk about their latest album release that can be purchased now from Deseret Book (click here). This album features a song written by President Russell M. Nelson, how exciting!

Mack Wilberg – Music Director
Mack Wilberg was appointed music director of TheTabernacle Choir at Temple Square on March 28, 2008, having served as associate music director of the Choir since May 1999. Dr. Wilberg is responsible for all musical and creative aspects of the Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square in rehearsals, concerts, tours, and recordings, as well as the weekly broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word.
Ryan Murphy – Associate Music Director
Dr. Murphy has extensive choral conducting and professional musical theater experience. Prior to his appointment, he conducted six choirs in the Boston area, including two choirs at the prestigious New England Conservatory Preparatory School. He served for four years as the choral director at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, an internationally recognized secondary school affiliated with the New England Conservatory. He was the music director of the Tuacahn Center for the Arts in the St. George, Utah, area from 2005 to 2007 following five seasons as music director at the Sundance Institute in Provo, Utah.
