Sister Rae Eckton – Transfers!!!!

September 15, 2018

Sister Rae Eckton was a previous guest on the Latter-day Saint MissionCast. You can listen to her episode by clicking here. She will be sending out updates on her mission experience in Edmonton, Canada, and we will be reposting her letters on our blog on a regular basis.

Hello hello!!

This week transfers happened. Early last Tuesday morning Sister Mills and I received a phone call that Sister Zumbach was going to finish my training. So I dropped Sister Mills off in Edmonton and brought Sister Zumbach back home to Grande Prairie!

Sister Zumbach is the coolest. She’s from France and moved to Ontario when she was 9. She knows French, so between our companionship we know 3 languages. She is the oldest of 7 girls and the first to serve a mission. Her family moved to Raymond, Alberta, a little after she left on her mission so she’s kinda far from home you could say. ?

This week we got Sister Zumbach settled in and got to do a lot of finding to show her more of the area. We visited some people who said to come back. Only one person answered and her name is Boosi. Her son let us in and she sat us down and asked what we had to share with her. We talked for awhile and got to know her. She’s from South Africa and grew up Christian and liked the sound of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She said she’ll be attending this Sunday, so hopefully everything works out and she can make it! Chuan is still progressing and is doing great. We are starting to plan out details for her baptism so it’s all super exciting. Everyone else left town to go on one last trip before school started again. So that’s all for this week!
This week I was reading in Doctrine and Covenants and really loved these verses in section 18:

10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;

11 For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.

12 And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.

13 And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!

14 Wherefore, you are called to cry repentance unto this people.

15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!

16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many soulsunto me!

I love you all so much! Have the best week!

Love,
Sister Eckton
